Metrocurean is the go-to resource for all things food in the DC metro area – eating out, entertaining at home, cooking and enjoying the good life. The Metrocurean name is a fusion of the words metropolitan and epicurean. The essence of our mission is to blend the metropolitan locale and aesthetic + an epicurean lifestyle. With its savvy voice, Metrocurean exists to inform, entertain and educate food lovers about the DC food and dining scene.

Founded in 2005 by Amanda McClements, Metrocurean quickly became the leading food blog in the DC metro area. In 2010, Amanda partnered with Interface Media Group (IMG) to relaunch Metrocurean into a dynamic destination website. From original video series like Steal This and Dishing With… to tasteful original recipes; from intriguing interviews with local and national food celebrities to inspirational entertaining tips; from the top restaurant openings and exciting chef news to what and where the Metrocurean community is eating, Metrocurean has your appetite covered.

About Amanda
Amanda is a well-respected food writer, whose work can be found in Food & Wine magazine, The Washington Post, ForbesTraveler.com and DC Modern Luxury, among others. Growing up in a food-obsessed family in North Carolina, Amanda could be found at an early age munching on snap peas in her parents’ garden or slurping shellfish at oyster roasts out in the country. After working at several publications as a food critic, editor and designer, she ditched her day job to pursue a full-time career in food writing. And Metrocurean was born. Amanda is regularly called on to give her expert opinion on DC’s food scene and has been quoted by NPR, The Los Angeles Times, National Geographic Traveler and FoxNews.com.
